Opening yourself up to your spiritual side & enabling yourself to be free from within.

What is yoga?

Yoga is about meeting you where you are.

Outlined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. There are eight limbs of yoga which include physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), sense withdrawal, concentration, and meditation.

Yoga is about creating something within oneself that radiates out to others without force.

Yoga is about cultivating a harmonious balanced internal environment that moves through this world sharing the vibes to the external environment with compassion, empathy, respect & acknowledgment.

Choosing the Style of Yoga

Ashtanga Sessions

In Ashtanga yoga, practitioners move through a set sequence of postures, starting with sun salutations and moving on to standing poses, seated poses, backbends, and inversions. The emphasis is on the flow of movement and the breath, with the intention of creating heat in the body and purifying the mind and body.

Ashtanga is characterized by its use of vinyasa, or the linking of movement and breath, as well as its emphasis on performing a set series of postures in a specific order. Ashtanga yoga is also known for its physically demanding practice, which includes the use of breath control, concentration, and alignment in each posture, designed to systematically open and strengthen the body, as well as purify and calm the mind.

Yin Restorative Sessions

Yin yoga is a slow-paced practice that emphasises holding passive stretches for extended periods of time. It is designed to gently stretch and open the connective tissues in the body, particularly in the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.

The practice is often done on the floor, using props such as blankets, blocks, and straps to support the body in the stretches and allow for a deeper release.

The goal of yin yoga is to increase flexibility and relaxation in the body and mind, and to improve the flow of energy in the body's meridian system. It is a calming and restorative practice that can be a complement to more active or dynamic styles of yoga.
